His name is Yang Fu Huang, and he's from
Yunyang County in the Chongqing Municipal District -- I think that's right in the Three Gorges area.
He was born last June.
The internet tells me Yunyang is known for archaeological remains of
horse burials, which they find unusual because it's too hilly for horses, which reminds me of the Basotho ponies my mother's mother's family knew -- horses plying the impassable routes of the
highest country in Earth.
It also says Yunyang is the
site of Zhang Fei's Temple, dedicated to
a historic general from the Three Kingdoms period who, in the centuries after his death, became regarded as a sort of deity who could bring good winds to the junk-sailors on the Chang Jiang. As a guy who grew up praying for a whisper of wind while sailing along the Intracoastal Waterway, I
like that.

What it's like today, I can only guess at. What his birthfamily is like, I can't even speculate.
I'll know more once we get the paperwork.
