Of course, it's Halloween, and we have a scary pirate in the house, and a sweaty pumpkin, and the camera breaks.
So, no photos, unless we can bum them off other people.
To make it up to y'all in the lamest way possible, here's a blurry picture of The Boy (age 12) and the Christo pool fence (not actually by Christo). Yes, those are Tibetan prayer flags flapping prayerfully overhead.
And, while I'm making requests, I need a question answered / researched. Do people from other countries come to America to adopt children?
I heard some windbag on the radio discussing Madonna and adoption. He said that no one comes to America to adopt children. We're just picking them up all willy-nilly all over the world. I used The Google to check around and couldn't find any information on the topic. It must happen, right?
I'd ask someone else but you're the only adoption expert I know. Besides, now that you don't have a camera to take lots of pictures, you'll have plenty of free time on your hands.
Matt, I'm no expert but I've heard that Canadians come here to adopt foster children. I'll go research it now. Thanks for the topic idea. Grant, do you know? I was also wondering if you are moving.
BTW.. Christo is coming to my neck of the woods to cover water.... A huge river through the mountains. It'll be interesting if he pulls it off!
I am sorry you have to give up your Christo pool fence and your yard. I am sorrier that I don't get to see photos of the scary pirate and the sweaty pumpkin! It's the pumpkin's first halloween. Drats.
I've heard Canadians and Scandinavians adopt over here in the States, but have never actually, like, looked up figures on it. Part of the problem with looking up things about adoption in the U.S., too, is that it's a state matter, so there are 50 different ways of doing most things.
And yes, big house, down to one salary, plus hurricane-based insurance bumpity, plus property assessment bumpity bumpity, means I'm working too much to be bouncing all these checks. And there's a sister-in-law with an extra house (believe it or not), so... we shall see how these chips will fall.
